The sweater is knitted in brioche stitch back and forth, with double thread on thick needles. The sweater has a rather short and wide fit, and consists of knit stitch only. You cast on the front piece and cast off at the neck opening, just to pick up the stitches there and knit your way down again. This way, you avoid shoulder seams. You assemble the sides, right to the armhole opening, where you pick up stitches for the sleeves and knit them up to the desired length.
The Chunky brioche sweater has to be washed by hand and needs to dry flat and be blocked, so that the stitches can unfold and stay like this. If you want a rather solid sweater, that doesn’t have to be blocked, go up 1-2 sizes.
